Volunteer

What the heart gives away is never gone ..
It is kept in the hearts of others.
-Robin St. John

Volunteering in the field of family and sexual violence can be rewarding and challenging.

Without volunteers, Freedom House would not be able to pursue the vision to end abuse
and violence and to provide shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

Freedom House offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals as well as groups
ranging from answer the hotline at our emergency shelter to assisting at our outreach center
with both client interaction and community education projects.

Guidelines for Individual Volunteers are as follows: a) must be at least 18 years of age. b) complete
a volunteer application, interview and criminal background check and c) attend the next Volunteer Orientation and Training program prior to beginning service.

Groups and/or Individuals may wish to offer their services through the Donation Opportunities .
These opportunities do not require going through the application process.

If after reviewing the volunteer opportunities, you are interested in assisting in a group community service program or as an individual, e-mail freedomhousevigil@hotmail.com or mail to Volunteer
Coordinator, Freedom House, P. O. Box 1626, Weatherford, TX 76086.
